NOTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PARISH COUNCIL OF

LEADENHAM

 

Held on TUESDAY 8th July 2026 at 7.00pm at Leadenham Village Hall.

3. PUBLIC FORUM – None

 

4. Councillor RESIGNATION & casual VACANCY

The Council noted the resignation of Councillor Willgoose and the resulting casual     vacancy

 

5. SPORTS FACILITIES

A proposal for a pickleball court suitable for young children was presented. Council welcomed the idea and looks forward to receiving more details in due course

It was RESOLVED that the bank reconciliation, transfers and statement of accounts be approved

  1. Non-regular payments: It was RESOLVED to approve:

8 X 30mph Signs @ £20each

  1. It was RESOLVED to write off the Royal Fund as irrecoverable.
  2. NJC for Local Government Service Pay award of 3.3% noted and authorised back pay from 1st April 2026.
  3. Further quotes to be obtained
  4. Cllr D Nelstrop volunteered for 6-monthly bank reconciliation check.

 

 

 

14. PLAY AREA

  1. Monthly and annual inspection report noted. All outstanding actions in progress
  2. Play park fencing options were reviewed and funding options to now be explored
  3. New play equipment, 1 item for under 5’s to be added to fencing quotes

 

 

15. VILLAGE MAINTENANCE

 

a)    Highways – Recent works noted, path clearing and hedge cut on A607. Path clearing now on 2 X annual schedule. Ongoing LCC project to support pavement to prevent further deterioration

b)    Village hall clock repair. deferred to next meeting

c)    Loose noticeboard posts were discussed. RESOLVED to request maintenance contractor to investigate

d)    Ownership and future maintenance of the A607 hedges were considered. Clerk reported concerns from residents had been raised over the safety of the footpath. Chair to check if 2 cut backs will be possible next year depending on machinery availability and the maintenance contractor to cut back ad-hoc when required in between cuts from North Road to Boundary. It was also noted that Andrea Jenkins now has control over footpath budgets, C/Cllr M Overton to contact to discuss re-routing the footpath away from the A607 roadside.

 

 

16. AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING. FCC Landfill update
