Leadenham Parish Council – Vacancy for Clerk / RFO.
Leadenham Parish Council is seeking a person to appoint as a Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer. (RFO).
Place of work: Home based.
Hours: 20 hours per month covering both roles.
Salary: Dependent on experience, within the local government scale recommended for Parish Clerks. Subject to annual review along nationally agreed and published guidelines.
Meetings: Every month, usually the second Tuesday of the month. Some additional meetings may be required, and the role holder will be expected to attend these.
Requirements: Ability to work on your own initiative.
Ability to time-plan and prioritise.
Confidence to deal with members of the public, councillors, local government bodies, contractors.
Confident in the use of Office, Word, Excel and website updates.
The role includes:
Managing the day-to-day business of the Council.
Preparing agendas and drafting minutes.
Advising the council and ensuring council compliance with legislation and best practice.
Implementing Council decisions.
Managing and reporting on the Council’s finances, including year-end audit reports and VAT.
Updating the Parish Council website.
Payroll is provided by a professional third party.
The Parish Council has a Play Area, Parish Field and Village Hall (managed by a committee). There is no responsibility for a cemetery.
